Mario Andreose was born in Venice in 1934. A prominent figure in Italian publishing, he spent 35 years at the Italian publishing house Bompiani, where he served as an editorial director and played a critical role in the Italian and international
success of authors like Umberto Eco, Alberto Moravia, and Leonardo Sciascia. In 2015, following the sale of Bompiani, Andreose, along with Elisabetta Sgarbi and Umberto Eco, left Bompiani to found a new publishing house: La Nave di Teseo. His recent book of memoirs, recollections and thoughts, is titled Un’educazione veneziana (A Venetian Education) and published by La Nave di Teseo.....
